Creating a Block

Post Posted: Sat Jun 06, 2009 11:03 am

Hi Mark,

I would like to create a block of the Log so that it auto displays below the list of competitions. This would be for Admins only so they can see a a glance what has been happening, especially with regard to GUID changes.

I cant seem to find what I need to make this happen. Your help would be much appreciated Smile

Cheers

Creating a Block

edit: I thought about making a block for this, but I think it would be impractical. Blocks are OK for simple things but the code to display log entries is rather complex and uses lots of other module functions that are not available to standard blocks.

So I'm thinking I could add a section to the main module page, where it currently lists all the events, but that page can be filtered by game and event, so it would make sense to then also filter the log entries displayed by the chosen game / event. However if I did that it wouldn't show GUID changes, because they're not specific to any given game / event.

If you're happy for the log entries displayed to be ALL log entries (or rather the last 'X' entries, because there could be 100's over time) then that would be easy enough, however it'll show entries for teams / players that are not in the specific event you might be looking at.
